Stitched & Sewn

 

Hand stitching is in my bones and comes naturally to me, as it does to so many others. When I was deep in the process of collaging and mixed media art I began to think about adding stitching to my pieces, usually as a finishing touch. There is magic in the way each small stich works with other stitches to make a path or trail... a symbolic trail through your page, your mood, your story.

The marks you make with your stitching can be random or symbolic. Your lines can be straight or curved, delicate or strong, colored or neutral. Stitching is tactile and human.
